Sick Care
We offer a full spectrum of care for the sick child. From illness to laceration and trauma care, we strive to provide the latest in therapies for our pediatric patients. With the presence of on site laboratories we are able to perform many diagnostic tests in house to aid in prompt and accurate treatment of ill children.
Separate Sick- and Well-child Areas
We care deeply about the health of our patients. Therefore, we provide separate sick and well check waiting room areas in an effort to keep sick and well patients apart as much as possible.
Prenatal Consultations
During your pregnancy or before adopting a child, you may schedule a complimentary 15-20 minute consultation with a pediatrician. We recommend scheduling this visit during the third trimester or one month prior to adoption. Please note that the prenatal visit is not required for you to choose us as your pediatrician upon delivery in the hospital.
Preventative Health Care
We consider well child visits the most important tool in health maintenance of your child. During these periodic checkups your child will receive a complete physical exam along with appropriate laboratory screening. Your physician will take time to review your child’s health status with you including development, growth, and appropriate immunizations. You will also receive information on what to expect in development, diet, behavior, and general care for your child. Specific concerns or questions that parents may have are also addressed. Our goal is to empower parents with information they can use in raising healthy children.
Electronic Medical Records
Our patient’s medical records are currently stored electronically, enabling us to have full access to your child’s medical records from any of our office locations. We also have the ability to electronically prescribe medications to most pharmacies in the area, thereby eliminating the need for a paper prescription. Electronic medical records offers a more concise, contained, and secure method of storing medical records and we are pleased to have this capability in our practice.
Phone-A- Nurse Service
Sometimes parents are unsure if a child needs to see a physician or have questions about symptoms or medications. That is why Christie Group has dedicated nurse phone services at both locations. Each day, specific nurses are designated to answer parents’ calls. As a result, your call will be returned promptly, occasionally some problems can be handled by phone without the need for an office visit. If the nurse determines your child needs to see a physician, we will schedule a visit for the same day.
Multiple Locations
To better serve you, Christie Group has three convenient locations – one on Mills Avenue near Greenville Memorial Hospital and the Children’s Hospital, another at Maxwell Pointe, located on the eastside off Highway 14 and Woodruff Road and our newest location at West Georgia Road near the intersection with Standing Springs Road in Simpsonville.
Seven-day Medical Coverage
Christie Group schedules same-day sick emergency visits for patients. All locations are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. We have extended evening hours until 7:00 p.m. Monday and Wednesday at our Mills Avenue office and on Tuesday and Thursday at our Highway 14 office. In addition, our physicians are available Saturday and Sunday mornings for urgent and emergent visits.
After-hours Pediatric Nurse Triage
We provide phone call coverage for parents whose children are ill after office hours. Parents contact us by calling either office location and can leave a message for call-back with the answering service. Calls are returned by either a Christie Group physician or a nurse from the Children’s Hospital Emergency Triage Center. Parents may receive advice on home care for their child, recommendation for a next day office visit, or immediate care at the Children’s Hospital Emergency Center at Greenville Memorial Hospital. After hours phone consultation is offered as a complementary service to our patients.
